Football Fever- Passion meets Tradition!

For the past 100+ years, football has been an essential part of many lives, loved by fans worldwide. The excitement begins even before the match itself. Fans gather in local pubs, sharing stories of past glories and painful defeats while enjoying beer and snacks. The streets are filled with people wearing scarves and jerseys, proudly supporting their team with flags held high and joy in their eyes, singing their hearts out as they march to the stadium.

Entering the stadium, the atmosphere peaks, with fans belting anthems and chanting, each retelling stories of victory or triumph. This tradition motivates the players to play their best to uphold their country/club’s legacy, displays unity and support for the team, and intimidates their opponents.

As one enjoys the match, trying local delicacies is necessary. For example, when one visits Newcastle, one can’t leave without trying their Baltic Fish and Chips as it denies visitors the opportunity of fully immersing themself in the experience. It is more than just eating; it’s about creating memories outside the field while adding another layer to an unforgettable experience.

Attending the 2022 FIFA World Cup was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience – one that I would never pass up. Watching Richarlison’s bicycle kick against Serbia live is a memory that no other will ever be able to top.

However, in my opinion, the most important event is the post-match celebrations where fans unite to discuss and analyse the game's outcome. This shared experience strengthens community bonds among diverse cultures and often ends with victory songs or reflections on improvements. Even in defeat, fans look ahead to the next match, helping to soften the blow.

For me the game is more than what it seems – it’s a painting with colours of sorrow and happiness splattered and painted by different people from various walks of life, joined together in their love and passion for a sport, possibly passed on from generations or picked up from friends. Isn't it amazing how a simple game can bring together various cultures despite their various beliefs?
